UNGC is the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship initiative launched by the United Nations. HLB has been an active participant in the UNGC since 2022, dedicated to fostering an inclusive society where human rights and labor rights are respected based on the 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are internationally recognized objectives aimed at addressing universal human issues, global environmental challenges, and economic and social concerns. These goals comprise 17 primary objectives and 169 detailed targets, to be achieved by 2030. HLB annually discloses its implementation activities for achieving UN SDGs through ESG reports, voluntarily participates in climate-related initiatives, and strives to fulfill corporate citizenship responsibilities in the environmental and social sectors by opening group social contribution channels.
CDP is a global initiative led by financial investment institutions worldwide that requires information disclosure related to environmental issues such as climate change, water sustainability, and forest resources. HLB has been participating in CDP since 2023, persistently working towards carbon reduction and renewable energy expansion, such as using idle rooftop land to install solar panels and secure carbon emissions rights.
TCFD is a global initiative launched by the Financial Stability Board, an international organization that monitors the global financial system. It aims to assess the effects of climate change on finance and investments, incorporating climate change-related risks into financial and investment decisions. HLB pledged support for TCFD in 2023 and is actively aligning with the climate-related disclosure standards set by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), including monitoring annual greenhouse gas emissions and establishing a 2045 carbon neutral roadmap.
TNFD is a nature-related financial information disclosure consultative body launched by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with the aim of preventing biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse. HLB pledged its support for TNFD in 2023 and intends to further enhance group-level initiatives, such as implementing campaigns to prevent wild bird collisions to preserve biodiversity.
WEPs, an initiative launched jointly by the UN Global Compact and UN Women, aims to advocate for women's human rights within local communities. HLB became a member and pledged support for WEPs in 2023, and is establishing an in-house women's capacity building program to enhance the representation of women in middle management positions and increase opportunities for female registered directors to participate on the board of directors.
